When there is a breach in the privacy become the order of the day on social media, many people decide to delete their online presence. But getting your constant fix of infotainment is a hard habit to break. Keep in mind below mentioned tips in order to be sure that you’re prepared for it.

Go Offline Jobs today makes it nearly impossible to stay away from our phones but still one can try to ensure that some of those interactions do not take place on social media, like connecting with friends in the real world is much more satisfying than sending a flurry of messages before one party disappears and better these meeting be scheduled by a call. For those cases when you can not meet or talk in real life to make plans, try email as an alternative. It’s much more less distracting and personal as well than logging on to social media.

Switch Your Mode — It’s human tendency to get distracted but then there are useful distractions and time-wasting ones as well, social media often falls under the latter unless you are making millions through it like Mr. Zuckerberg. I’ll suggest to book mark links to articles you want to read or even it’s even better to carry a new book around. Listen to some music or even go for a short walk, take a long drive if you like. Once you get off social media only then you realize that you have much more mental space and time to do things in the real world. You can even sign up for a new sport or some class to give yourself another way to keep your mind occupies.

Buy a Watch or an Alarm Clock— Out of a lot of things for which we are dependent on our phones, checking time is basically the one we do more often. Phones are often the first thing we see when we open our eyes, getting an alarm clock is a great way of eliminating your phone from one aspect of your life, get a wrist watch as well and trust me it will reduce your time spent on social media automatically. By getting an alarm clock, you will perhaps take a moment to be by yourself and your own thoughts before being bombarded with information as the first thing in the morning.

Notice the Triggers — Boredom is the one thing that triggers your urge to check social media. Try to identify the times you find yourself logging on, being aware of what lures you into the world wide web helps you pin point triggers and can help you steer clear of social media. If you notice yourself scrolling through FB or Insta while taking a coffee break, make sure you make a note to distract yourself with something else.

Rewarding Yourself — Every time you resist the use of social media, treat yourself with small things like having an ice cream and when some time passes, like a week or a month, buy yourself a good dinner and not post it on Instagram or Facebook this time.
